What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I’ve always been a pretty athletic kid. I played three sports from the time I was six. I think football really stuck out to me because I really love to compete and I love the grittiness of the game. I’ve always been super competitive growing up, and I feel like football brings out the best version of myself on and off the field.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

One of my favorite moments was my senior year in high school. We were historically a very below average team and our senior year, we won the district championship for the first time in about 30 years. Another favorite moment of mine was winning the NEC championship in 2022. Another thing that I love about my football. Life is the connections and bonds with teammates that will never be forgotten.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I would really love the opportunity to at least make a mini camp, and show my talents and how hard of a worker I am. I would do anything and everything in my control to make a 53 man roster and do whatever it takes to win.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would really love the chance to hang out with Larry Fitzgerald. I really love the way that he carries himself on and off the field and he’s been a super reliable player his whole career. If I meet him I would like to just pick his brain about any tips and any advice about football. You don’t come across too many receivers that have more career tackles than they do dropped passes.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

I’d really hate to just pick one because I have a pretty big family and everyone in my family has very good qualities in their own way. Both of my parents have both really inspired me in different ways. Right now though, I would say my mom because she has been a tremendous help with getting me to where I am right now in this process and I really admire her work ethic and just never taking no for an answer and doing whatever it takes to help me succeed in life, or in sports.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favorite offensive scheme would be 10 personnel, and running an air raid type of offense. Of course, as a receiver I want the ball thrown as much as possible and with 10 personnel, you have four receivers on the field. And with this type of offense, a big play can happen at any time.

What should we know about Dawson Snyder the person?

I feel like I am a really humble person. I don’t really like to talk about stats or accolades a lot. I really like to just go out and compete every single day and give every rep 100%. I feel like I can say that I am a very hard worker because I was first a walk on and then earned a scholarship and now I am just very blessed to be in the position I am in.

What stands out about your film the most?

I feel what really stands out is that I am just a very good overall receiver. I can take the top off a defense with deep balls at any time. And I can also be a presence in short or medium range passes and am also not very easy to bring down. I also believe that I am a very good blocker as well. I really don’t mind doing the dirty things and getting in there and making blocks on anyone.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Honestly, I feel like I do the same for both. For me, I like to just keep my head down and just keep working because everything happens for a reason. I like to just stay the course without causing problems or drama, and just stay in my own lane.

What would a team get in a player like you?

When a team picks me up, they are getting a small town kid with a blue-collar work ethic who doesn’t quit and never take no for an answer. They are going to get a guy who is very gritty, very reliable, and a great person and teammate.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I really just love to compete. I grew up in a super competitive family who really hates to lose. I like doing the little things that nobody really notices but helps the team win. I also really love the aspect of just bringing kids in from anywhere in creating a bond and lifelong friendships.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Kerry Galloway would definitely be my answer. He’s a great corner back that I got to compete against every day at practice and doesn’t get the recognition I feel that he should. Some people say that he may be under sized a little, but he has more heart than anyone I know. Overall, he’s just such an incredible guy on and off the field, and very humble as well.
