Vikings are in a disarray | Adam Thielen cut, Zadarius Smith wants out and Dalvin Cook Rumors
What is happening in Minnesota?
The Minnesota Vikings had a very solid football team and by the sound of it they are making moves to mix some things up.
Adam Thielen Cut
Adam Thielen the two time Pro Bowl wide receiver is being released today after ten seasons with the Vikings.
Thielen is 32-years-old but still has a lot left in the tank. The Vikings asked him to lower his contract but the two sides could not come to an agreement. The Vikings will save 6.417 million with this move but will be crushed with dead money.
Zadarius Smith wants out?
If that is not enough, last night Zadarius Smith posted a very emotional tweet telling the Vikings fans thank you. It sounded as if he was being cut, but that was not true. He did however ask for a release.
Smith asked the Vikings last night to release him, and the team says they have no plans to do that. So they will need to work on a resolution to make their star pass rusher happy.
WHAT IS COOKING?
While you would think that is it in Minnesota, the fans got a huge scare last night when Dalvin Cook and Trade were mentioned on YouTube, when Darren Wolfson of KSTP told Mackey and Judd, Cook’s name was brought up in trade talks.
“I did hear that there is an offer in on Dalvin Cook. So if they wanted to trade Dalvin Cook, there is an interested team,” said KSTP’s Darren Wolfson on Mackey & Judd. “You look at the running back market, there’s not a whole lot there, depending on what you think of Miles Sanders. David Montgomery is OK. Alexander Mattison is OK.”
I am not sure what the Vikings are doing but this is not good. When you start hearing rumblings left and right there is usually some smoke.
