Pittman’s Pocket: Can Jackson State ruin Alabama State’s homecoming in front of two five star prospects?
Deion Sanders love to land big time recruits, but can he impress two five star recruits this weekend and ruin Alabama State’s homecoming?
Coach Prime has been locked in year and the game is a highly anticipated game between the two SWAC powerhouses.
According to Steven Gaither via 247sports, James Smith and Qua Russaw of Carver High School in Columbus, AL will be in town for a recruiting visit along with teammates Antonio Trone and Kalari Gordon. Both Russaw and Smith are five star recruits who will be at the ASU homecoming.
Smith is ranked as the 14th best player in the 2023 class overall and the top player in the state of Alabama. Russaw is ranked as the 26th best player in the nation and the fourth in the state.
The Battle of the Bands will be insane, the tailgating, the HBCU families coming together and we could be watching the best HBCU game of the year.
There is nothing like the atmosphere of an HBCU football game, and add in the fact that Deion Sanders will be in attendance, I would not be shocked if both of these players are stoked to watch the game.
The question is, will Deion Sanders offer them after the game? Jackson State has yet to offer either of the 5-star recruits.
