What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2025 NFL Draft?
My preparation. From nutrition, to warm up and cooldown, to recovery, film and school, I do everything to be a great football player and set myself up for success. These are everyday habits and things I have done year in and year out. Because this is who I am and these are habits I have ingrained in myself, I know that I’ll be able to continue this type of “professional” behavior when I play at the next level.
What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?
They should know that I prepare to be great. My performance on the field is not by accident, it comes from thorough preparation and attention to detail. I get my mind ready by studying our playbook and understand all our concepts as a whole and watch film on our opponents’ tendencies in order to expose them in the game. I prepare my body to perform by rolling, stretching and doing my own warmup before ever taking the field. I use ice baths and treatment to help my body recover, and get ready to perform again.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
I would personally donate to sports and youth development. No matter where you come from sports are something that teach you so many life lessons. Every single kid deserves the chance to develop skills like teamwork, communication, work ethic, discipline, but also how to fail, and what it feels like, how to get through it and come out even better and succeed once again. These are skills that have personally shaped who I am today and if there is one thing I think every single kid deserves around the world it’s to play sports.
Who was your role model?
My role model has always been my dad. He has such a unique ability to always find the silver lining in various situations which makes him such a truly positive person. I have never met somebody that doesn’t love him, and he has such a lasting impression on everybody he meets, a skill I try to incorporate into my daily life. He has taught me so much about work ethic and to “control what you can control” something I live by and has shaped the hardworking kid I am today.
Who is your favorite NFL team?
Miami Dolphins. My family and I used to travel to Orlando a lot growing up, so I grew up watching a lot of Dolphins games and fell in love with them. Now that I’m in Hamilton and very close to Buffalo it’s probably the worst team I could be a fan of because of all the local Bills fans, however I stand strong and hope they can stay healthy and compete in the playoffs this year.
Who is the most underrated teammate at your school?
Keagan Hall. This guy works harder than anybody else I know on the team, shows up early, stays late. If you watch his film, the majority the plays he makes are not only spectacular but ones in which the pocket in compromised and he stands in, soaks big hits, gets back up and goes and makes another huge play.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Laziness. Too many people take the easy road out and it drives me nuts. Too few people back up their talk with action. My favorite people in my life are the ones that don’t talk but simply go about their business, work their butt off, and let the results do the talking.
Who is your favorite teacher ever?
My favorite teacher ever was Mr. Lord. He was my grade 4 teacher and was so fun. He used to let us stay inside in the winter and play mini sticks with him at lunch break. When he was on yard duty, he would play football or soccer with us. In the classroom he was a very positive and caring teacher that valued every student in the class and treated them as equal making the learning environment very healthy.
Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?
The hardest thing I have had to overcome is when I broke my fibula in 2023. I found out just how fast life can change. Not being able to walk for 6 weeks was very tough on my mental health, it affected everything in my day-to-day life, but as difficult as it was at the time, it’s also taught me so much. It showed me who my real friends are and the people I can rely on when things get tough. I will never again take for granted walking on two feet and having the freedom to move around when you want to. It also taught me that I can get through tough things and be stronger for it which is a good thing to know about yourself in life.
If you could have any franchise restaurant in your house, what would it be?
Chipotle. All though there’s many other good options, Chipotle has the type of menu that offers me enough variety that I could eat every day for the rest of my life and maintain my goals and aspirations.
What is your favorite snack food?
I don’t snack much but sitting down and having some chips while watching NFL football on Sunday can’t really be beat.
What is your degree in?
Business
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?
My list of three would include:
- Kobe Bryant: There isn’t a Kobe quote that I don’t try to incorporate into my daily life, his mentality and his away of approaching not only sport but anything you tackle in your life is something that I find very inspirational. Being able to sit down and pick his brain even further would be so cool and help me so much in my process.
- Tiger Woods: You would be surprised to know I used to be quite the golfer before I moved over to football. Tiger’s run to the top of the golf, the sheer dominance, revolutionizing the sport is truly in my opinion the most impressive individual run in sports history. I would love to talk to him about his mental toughness and just how he became so unflappable but also so determined to not only win but dominate his opponents.
- Tom Brady: Tom (the goat) would offer so much I could benefit from. Not only his level of understanding of the game of football but also unlike the other two guys really give a perspective of being the one that nobody believed in. I think having that perspective in a tough time or a time where I may feel the same would be so important in the next stage of my career.
What is your biggest weakness?
There are always ways to improve so I’m constantly working on little things to get better. One area that I’m working on now is increasing my yards after the catch. I know I have great hands and my ball security is excellent, but I haven’t broken too many long plays after the catch. I know there are many factors to consider, but I’ve been trying to improve my body control so that I can stay in my feet through contact, make the first man miss, break some tackles and gain more yards. I’ll continue to work with coaches and trainers by doing various running drills, Bosu ball work and other things to improve this aspect of my game.
