If Brandon Aiyuk is traded to the Washington Commanders he could help rookie Jayden Daniels big time

We all know that Jayden Daniels and Brandon Aiyuk were teammates at Arizona State years ago and the two are still very close. Aiyuk posted the other day that the Niners told him they do not want him back, and if that is in the case, the Washington Commanders have to be in play.

Brandon Aiyuk, is currently with the San Francisco 49ers, but he could significantly benefit the Washington Commanders if he were to join the team. I wanted to break down why Aiyuk would be a huge asset to the Commanders.

Enhanced Receiving Corps

Aiyuk’s addition would strengthen the Commanders’ receiving corps, giving them a reliable and explosive option. This would alleviate pressure on other receivers like Terry McLaurin, allowing for a more balanced and dynamic offense.

Versatility

Aiyuk is known for his versatility, capable of playing both outside and in the slot. His ability to run a diverse route tree and excel in different alignments would provide the Commanders with flexibility in their offensive schemes.

Yards After Catch (YAC)

One of Aiyuk’s standout skills is his ability to gain yards after the catch. This ability to turn short passes into significant gains could be particularly valuable in quick-passing situations and screen plays, enhancing the Commanders’ offensive efficiency.

Big-Play Ability

Aiyuk has a knack for making big plays, whether through deep passes or breaking tackles for long gains. His presence would add a deep-threat dimension to the Commanders’ offense, stretching defenses and opening up opportunities for other players.

Red Zone Target

Aiyuk’s size, athleticism, and route-running make him a valuable target in the red zone. His ability to create separation and catch contested passes could help improve the Commanders’ scoring efficiency inside the 20-yard line.

If you add in the relationship with Jayden Daniels, it could end up being a picture perfect landing spot. What would it take to secure the young pass catcher though? That is the biggest question.
