Former Jaguars employee Amit Patel sentenced to 78 months in prison for stealing 22 million
A judge sentenced Amit Patel to 6 1/2 years in federal prison on Tuesday. He was also ordered to pay back just over $21 million to the Jacksonville Jaguars. This will be accompanied by a 3-year supervised release.
Once on unsupervised release, Patel will be ordered to participate in substance abuse and mental health programs.
He’ll also have his personal computer(s) subject to searches upon reasonable suspicion.
Patel will be prohibited from opening new lines of credit and he’ll have to provide a probation officer his financial information for monitoring. He’ll also have to avoid work in accounting unless approved from the court.
Patel had plead guilty to fraud charges. This is a slap in the wrist considering how much money he stole.
