Could Raiders trade up to the first overall pick to try to land Caleb Williams?

The Las Vegas Raiders have a new offensive coordinator in Kliff Kingsbury, the man that coached Patrick Mahomes in college and also was the quarterbacks coach at USC that worked with Caleb Williams.

Many have Caleb Williams going first overall, but with the news that Caleb Williams does not want to play for the Chicago Bears, does that make the pick up for grabs now?

If it is, then the Bears are definitely going to try to get the best offer they can for the first overall pick.

Kingsbury recently told reporters that both players are very similar. Both players are known for their electric playmaking ability, particularly when they have to improvise and extend plays with their legs, while also showing off their arm strength.

Comparing Williams to Mahomes seems bold considering Mahomes will be playing in the Super Bowl again. Albert Breer recently said Kingsbury had high praise for Williams.

“The obvious [comparison], right? Caleb Williams is Patrick Mahomes,” Breer said on Kap and J-Hood on ESPN 1000 in Chicago this week. “And I’ve had no less an authority than Kliff Kingsbury say that to me on the record, that it’s eerie the similarities between the two of them. Remember, he coached Mahomes and told everyone who would listen about Mahomes when Mahomes was coming out in 2017. So he’s had a year now with Caleb Williams, and he’ll tell anybody that there are a lot of similarities between what Patrick Mahomes was in 2017 and what Caleb Williams is in 2024.

Now, would Kingsbury be able to talk to the Raiders to take a swing for a top tier quarterback? Think about it, the Raiders are not afraid to wheel and deal, but what would they be willing to give up. The Bears are going to be looking for a prospect and draft picks. If the Raiders were willing to give up Davante Adams, the 13th pick and a first from next year, would the Bears jump on that?

Imagine having Justin Fields throwing to Cole Kmet, Davante Adams, and DJ Moore? That is pretty insane especially adding some more draft picks to the mix.

Do you think this is even a possibility?
