Pittman’s Pocket: Will HBCU Juniors face Biasness in draft grades

How will NFL GM’s & Scouts will grade HBCU Juniors and how many should make the decision to leave? Who will get invites to Combine, All-Star games, and Pro days?

I find it very interesting that the NFL has now made it a possibility for HBCU football players that are juniors to participate in All-Star Games. Every year about 60-80 juniors come out of school early to pursue the NFL, but there have not been many underclassmen from the HBCU’s that have taken this step.

Is this step going to lead to false hope? Is there a process intact for the juniors from HBCU programs to check with the NFL to see if they have a draftable grade before making a decision?

Will the NFL have its network now more in the presence of HBCU events for better scouting and competition? Scouts would be able to add to their evaluations, especially with FBS competition.

I think there are many questions to be ask, but one of them is How many HBCU Juniors can build a draft stock through a small selection of All-star games?

Over time things will revolve as they always do. As long as recruiting continues to improve in the HBCU football community then the odds will be in favor!
