What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I always loved football growing up as a kid, what made me want to become a football player was watching Larry Fitzgerald, he’s my all-time favorite player and I always wanted to be just like him because of how great he was on and off the field.

What are your favorite moments from your life?

My favorite moments from my football life has to be all of the relationships I’ve made along the way, grinding through adversity with your teammates really seals a bond that goes further than on the field. That is a relationship that you just can’t make up, when you have to depend on each other in order to achieve the same goals you all want, there is a natural bond there that creates lifetime relationships. That is why football is the greatest sport ever.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mom is easily my biggest inspiration because I grew up watching her struggle day after day to take care of our family on her own. She is the most sacrificial, dedicated and driven human being I know. She does anything she can to make sure the bills are paid and there’s food in our stomachs, even if that means she doesn’t eat that night. There is nothing else in this world I want more than to make sure she doesn’t have to struggle again for the rest of her life. Once I achieve that, my life is complete.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

What I’m looking forward to this season is to soak in all the little things because this is my last season that is promised, that thought right there is a crazy feeling and it really hits home when I’ve played this sport ever since I could walk. Soak in and appreciate all the relationships, the hard times, the great times and get my first national championship, is all I want this season.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Larry Fitzgerald, because he is my all-time favorite football player and my childhood idol. To me, he’s one of the greatest receivers to every play this game. He is the only reason my favorite team is the Cardinals.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Northwest Missouri State?

My favorite thing about playing for Northwest is the culture. This town completely shuts down on game-day, that’s how supportive this fan base is. Another thing I love about this culture is that we are trained to have the mindset to walk into a game already knowing we’re going to win, walking into a game with that mindset helps you play much better, more confident, loose and have more fun! We expect to win, that’s our lifestyle around here. #OABAAB

What should we know about Trevon Alexander the person?

He has faced adversity his whole life, being doubted, overlooked, 1 offer coming out of high school and considering where I ended up, there’s no other place I’d rather be than at Northwest. One thing you should know about Trevon is that he will never give up on his dreams, he has bad days and great days but there’s one thing that’s set in stone, he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and with God and family in his corner, all he needs is one chance and the rest will be history.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favorite offensive scheme would probably be the mesh concept because if you run it correctly, someone will ALWAYS be open.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

When challenges come my way in football I just sit there and tell myself, “It’ll be okay, just keep going and God will get you through this.” Facing challenges in life, as a firm believer in Christ, prayer is always helpful for me because there is no challenge that God can’t handle. I also go to my mom because she always gives great advice on what to do or how to handle a situation. She is that physical presence that comforts me so I don’t overthink the little things.

What would a team get in a player like you?

With a player like me, a team would be sure to get someone who will always show up on time ready to work even on my worst day, someone who has nothing to lose and is dedicated and driven because I WANT to be there, doing something I’ve worked my whole life to achieve and I won’t waste anyone’s time, let alone my time. Most importantly, someone who is passionate about the game and wants to have fun playing a game that we all love because at the end of the day, football is just a game and if you’re not having fun then don’t show up.

What stands out about your film the most?

What stands out most about my film is that it may not be super flashy like everyone else’s is, but one thing that you’ll notice is someone who plays hard, takes pride in blocking and will finish every play until the whistle blows. When you watch my film, you see someone who is playing with a purpose. I may not be your typical 4.3 guy, but I do give my best effort every play and that beats speed any day. EFFORT IS EVERYTHING.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

The most underrated player I’ve ever played with is Kaden Davis. He is someone I always looked up to ever since I became teammates with him in 2020, one of the fastest receivers I’ve ever played with and the most dedicated person I’ve been around. Playing with him was truly special because you just wanted to be around him all the time, he was my best friend here at Northwest and you knew if you were with him doing what he’s doing, then you’re doing the right thing, on and off the field. He always had that chip on his shoulder and I once I played with him I always knew he was going to play professional football, he moves through life with purpose and he won’t stop until everyone sees what he’s always seen in himself and that’s the fact that is a top tier professional football player.
