Stetson football player Trent Stewart died after a head-on collision car accident this past week, according to reports.

Trenton “Trent” Stewart just finished his first year as a football player at Stetson and was planning on majoring in Cybersecurity. Unfortunately, on Tuesday the football standout returned home to Saint Johns, Florida but was involved in a horrible head-on collision car accident.

The defensive lineman did not make it out alive. Trent was recently named to the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll and planned to return to campus this summer to work out with the team.

“On behalf of the entire Stetson football family, today is truly a sad day,” said Head Football Coach Brian Young. “We have lost a young man who exemplified what it means to be a Stetson Hatter. Our hearts go out to his teammates, family and the entire Stetson community. We have lost a brother, teammate and friend. He will always be a Hatter.”

Please keep Trent’s family and friends in your prayer’s during this tough time. Rest in Peace Trent.
