What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I think that decision was made a long time ago it was really my mother’s decision, she wanted me to play sports and football is one of those sports where you are free to make contact which other sports don’t allow and watching my older brother play influenced me to play as well.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Winning the Simone award here in Kansas City and another thing I loved was traveling and going to different camps and getting an offer to play.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
Would really just be to continue to love the game you only get so many years in this, so just the love of the game and accomplish your dreams.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Tiki Barber and Jamaal Charles, Tiki Barber because as a kid I read a football book about his story and Jamaal Charles just because he played in Kansas City and I grew up watching him.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My mother, due to just kind of how she raised us on our own and instilled in us the power to get through adversity by doing what she does.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
Pro Style, being able to establish the run as well as throwing it to open up the run. So an inside/outside zone type of deal to get the running game going.
What should we know about Julian Ross the person?
Julian Ross is a very passionate, relentless player and competitive and understanding and still progressing and enduring through tough times as a team and just has the ability to just keep working and grind. It is important to acknowledge that I am a selfless person too.
What stands out about your film the most?
The ability to get into a downhill runner with speed, aggressive runner that doesn’t shy away from contact, plays special teams as well as the ability to make explosive plays.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I handle all my challenges by controlling what I can control and have the discipline to show up.
What would a team get in a player like you?
The team would get a very selfless leader, a player willing to go out and play wherever and bring some energy to the team and competitive as well.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
Just being able to express yourself it’s just one of those sports where you can go out and be a different person in a way that is deemed okay by going out and expressing yourself.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Isiah Cox, I think he’s one of the more underrated players and coming from the MAC it’s full of underrated players but Isiah has this ability to get yards after the catch and his routes are very crisp.
