NFL should hire a therapist to help former Ravens FB Le’Ron McClain who is pleading for help

Le’Ron McClain is crying out for help will the NFL listen?

I love the NFL and football but there are some players who leave the game and really struggle when it comes to adapting to the game.  Football players usually experience repeated traumatic injuries that can affect their body and brain, and recently researchers discovered that concussions and brain trauma which are common in the game of football actually lead to severe mental health issues as players age.

This past week Le’Ron McClain the former All-Pro fullback of the Baltimore Ravens made a cry out for help on Twitter to the NFL.

McClain played for seven years in the NFL mostly with the Ravens but had a short stint with the Chiefs and then finished his career with the Chargers.  McClain was a fourth round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft from the University of Alabama.  He speculated on Twitter that he would have had an easier time getting assistance from the NFL if he was a quarterback.

McClain went off on Saturday saying he needs help.

“Need to tell my story of how my head is crazy and how football did it. Please someone help me get this out @NFL”

“I have to get my head checked. Playing fullback since high school. Its takes too f________ much to do anything. My brain is F________ tired…. @NFL I need some help with this shyt. Dark times and its showing. F______ help me please!!! They don’t care I had to get lawyers man!”

“Watch how fast they come to aid if I was some QB or anything but no I was a f_______ fullback that did it all. @NFL I need help and I need the process to speed the F_____ up.”

I am not sure if McClain would have received better treatment if he was a quarterback but the league always has put QB’s on the silver platter. I feel bad for McClain, because he is obviously going through something he cannot control. When you play football, and are good at it, you feel you can do everything.  McClain said he would do everything he could to still get over the pain and problems, but just wanted the NFL to step up and help as soon as possible.

“Just know Imma fight this thing and block it like im blocking 60 PWR on the goaline. We gonna score!!! I got this!

CTE is caused by repetitive brain trauma including concussions which begin to trigger progressive degeneration of brain tissue. The NFL needs to hire a Therapist to help the former NFL veteran.

There have been instances of mental health problems in former football players that made headlines. Remember Junior Seau?

The former Chargers linebacker committed suicide in 2012 and his autopsy revealed he had CTE, a brain disease.

Did you know that about 22 percent of players who have received multiple concussions suffer from depression?  Concussions occur when a sudden impact jostles the brain causing it to hit the surrounding skull or rotate unnaturally.  This is a problem and an extremely common problem in the NFL.

The NFL is making tons of money, and it would not cost them barley anything to get McClain some help. He would not be crying out for help if he did not need it.
