Giants head coach responds to Eagles trash talkers saying “Talk is cheap, Play the Game”
“0-4” was the comment made by Giants defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul that started this entire week’s trash talk session. JPP said that the Eagles are indeed 4-1, but could have easily been 0-4, which to the common observer would not make any sense because the Eagles have played five games up to this point. This lead to a rebuttal by Eagles center Jason Kelce, who apparently did not believe someone like JPP could have been “smart enough to come up with that statement on his own,” suggesting that some upper figure crafted that kind of statement. So all signs of that notion lead to none other than coach Tom Coughlin.
Despite Coughlin’s stance on all of the trash talking that has been going on this week, he couldn’t resist making a quirky remark in response to Kelce’s statement.
“I don’t know how he went into the records and found out I wasn’t a very good math student,” Coughlin said Friday afternoon. “Talk is cheap, play the game. That is my message. I would be the worst person in the world to ask that of because I really don’t approve of it. I don’t know what it has to do with anything, except sells papers and makes for talk show stuff.”
I agree with Coughlin, play the game but that will not be easy for Jason Kelce. Kelce the player talking trash is injured and will not be available to play. To be honest, it might not have been smart to start talking trash to the Giants, when you cannot play yourself, WHOOPS…
