Grambling State Football players need to be given praise, it was brave to stand up

I am sorry, but the players at Grambling State University in Louisiana need to be given a round of applause.  What they did this week was something that needed to happen.  The players felt the administration honestly didn’t care if they won or how they were able to get to the games.

One of the biggest problems from the Grambling State football players is that the team really felt that former Washington Redskins head coach Doug Williams Sr. was the answer for the team.  Even though they were playing bad under him in his return to Grambling State the team rallied around him.  Well when they fired him the team assigned a interim head coach.  That interim head coach was actually fired this week because the players walked out on him and his practices.  They feel they can still win and they are a good team.  I have to agree that Grambling has some good players, but what they did took courage.

Anytime you are willing to fight a cause and everyone is willing to do it together, it takes heart.  If you think for a minute those kids are wrong, I have to say I am ashamed.  Did you know the Grambling State football team has to take a bus to all their games?  They have had to ride for 10 hours on bus trips with a coaching staff they cannot get along with.  I was told those bus rides were the worst, because the setting was not good.  Well these kids are now supposed to play Jackson State this weekend in Jackson.  The bus ride is only 2 hours away, but this is a huge rivalry.

Grambling State will have a new head coach, and it will be their former Defensive Coordinator.  If the game goes on this week, I would be surprised.  I think this team should continue to buck, until the AD is gone.  He is the big problem in my opinion.  I feel so bad for Eddie Robinson and his family, because this program has been in shambles since his departure.
