Chris Johnson is in NEW YORK, but not to meet with the Jets……YET

Chris Johnson the former Tennessee Titans running back tweeted Tuesday afternoon that he was traveling out of town from his home base in Orlando, but later clarified in a second tweet: “I’m traveling for personal reason no team visit today.”

Well according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily, Chris Johnson will be in New York, but is not scheduled to meet with the Jets, yet.

The Daily News has learned that free-agent running back Chris Johnson was in New York on Tuesday night, but he is not scheduled to meet with the Jets as part of his trip.

The Jets are interested in the three-time Pro Bowler if the price is right, according to sources. The team is intrigued by the potential backfield tandem of Chris Ivory and Chris Johnson, who was officially released by the Tennessee Titans on Monday.
The Jets have no concerns about Johnson’s work ethic, which was called into question in a report by the Tennessean newspaper over the weekend. Johnson, 28, has rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his six seasons in the NFL.
If Chris Johnson does want a chance to be a starting running back, his best bet would be the Jets.  They are the only real team without a true number 1 running back. CJ2k would be a huge upgrade over Chris Ivory, but still nothing has happened yet…… Stay Tuned
