Derek Carr is scheduled to visit the New York Jets this weekend | Will they pass on Aaron Rodgers?
The New York Jets want a veteran quarterback and it sounds like they may not wait for Aaron Rodgers.
According to Mike Garafolo the Jets and Derek Carr will meet for the second time this weekend.
Even Rapsheet himself said that Carr is high on the Jets list! The thing is there are other teams interested in Carr. One team reportedly interested is the New Orleans Saints.
Carr the 31-year-old gunslinger would be a very good get for the Jets in my opinion. I like him a lot better than Rodgers.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Carr helped the Raiders reach the playoffs during the 2016 season, the franchise’s first appearance since 2002, as well as another postseason berth in 2021.
Following a 2022 season that missed expectations, Carr lost his starting job and agreed with Raiders leadership to be released following the conclusion of the season.
He left the Raiders as the franchise leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and pass completions.
Nine of the 11 losses for the Raiders were by one possession, which Carr was around for ten of them. The Raiders became the first team in NFL history to lose five games where they had double-digit, second-half leads.
