What made you decide you wanted to be a linebacker?

The knack for the ball honestly, I always would find myself around it, plus I was a person that loved hitting so it kind of chose me I would say.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

It would definitely be Ray Lewis I would just ask so many questions about the game and how to analyze it from a nfl level or mind I should say.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My all time favorite moments are when I get to make my mom proud I mean without her there is no me she’s the ultimate warrior she keeps me going and motivated every day.

Which family member inspires you the most and why?

My grandmother because she is the key to the ignition she holds everything together from her end to my end she makes sure everything is ok and handled 24/7.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Northwestern State?

The culture and the family vibe I get from everyone there.

What should we know about Jomard Valsin the person?

I am a hardworking, responsible, leader I do my job with intent.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

4-2-5 and because it allows slime many 1 on 1s and linebacker’s just fit gaps.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring a energy that lifts everybody up and that can be fed off of.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle all my challenges by taking a step back and observing each and every outcome before I take them on.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a player that’s going to give his all each and every day, be where I’m supposed to be when I’m supposed to be, a player you can count on, and player that’s willing to learn and enjoy his journey.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’m looking forward to a lot of team success.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Brian Roy Jr because of all the assets he brings are irreplaceable.
