What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2023 NFL Draft?
My versatility as a player. I’m able to be a mismatch in the pass game against CBs, safeties, and LBs. I’m also a very physical and dynamic run blocker.
At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?
I grew up in a family that loves football, so I was interested in it as early as I can remember. I started playing in first grade.
What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?
I’m excited at the prospect of making this love a full time job. Playing football at the #1 school has made me great at time management and putting all of my effort into both schoolwork as well as fieldwork/weight room work, but I’m ready to put all of that time and effort into getting better as a player.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
I would love to one day put together a scholarship program to help kids go to schools that they think are too expensive. This will help many people chase their dreams in a similar way I have been able to.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
My parents have always preached to spread love, bring people together, and lead the right way.
Who was your childhood hero?
My dad is my hero. I hope to be as good of a father as he has been to me. As a kid I knew him as a superhero, but as I grew older I realized actually how loving and caring he has been every second of my life.
Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?
Connor Scaglione. We have a lot of great talent in our locker room, but I believe him to also be some of the best talent in the Ivy League, and he has been shown less love. Not only is he a great leader for us, he is going to dominate this season.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Hating someone until they give you a reason to like them instead of liking someone until they give you a reason to hate them.
Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?
My school requires the highest level of time management, work, and efficiency, especially as a student athlete. It has helped me become a better and stronger man. Princeton is also special to me because once you graduate as a tiger, you are in a family for life that will never go away.
What is the best part of football?
The people you get so close with along the way. It’s the perfect mix of friendship and expectation to do what you are supposed to do.
If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?
Not only am I a very tough player in the run game and hard to stop in the pass game, I am able to understand offensive concepts, from offensive lineman assignments to receiver reads, at an extremely high level.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?
Because the tight end position isn’t a one-size-fit-all position, it is hard to directly compare me to anybody. I do like to mimic the games of players like Dawson Knox who plays for the Bills and Dallas Goedert for the Eagles.
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Nick Saban, because I grew up a bama football fan and would love to hear some wisdom, Dennis Rodman, because he’s my favorite basketball player, and Snoop Dogg, because he is very entertaining.
