Chicago High School football standout Jamari Williams shot and killed a year after losing his father to gun violence


Yesterday, Jamari Williams a fifteen year old boy from Simeon Career Academy High School was shot and killed in front of a plaza. Yesterday, we were not aware of who the player was shot and killed, but now we now.
The 15 year old football standout was standing at a shopping center when a black car pulled up and ran out over 13 shots. According to multiple reports, Jamari’s father was killed last year from gun violence.
According to police, the 15-year-old male was standing at a shopping plaza in the 8300 block of South Holland Road around 2:30 p.m. when a vehicle approached. A person inside a black vehicle fired shots and the teen was struck in the chest.
The fire department was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was a junior varsity football player whose name was not mentioned. No one is in custody at this time.
