Wisconsin high school football player killed in a car crash

Owen Briggs had a bright future, the standout football player for Hamilton High School was killed in a car crash on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Briggs went off the road and crashed into a tree near Lannon and Lisbon Roads and the vehicle caught fire.
Briggs was the only person in the vehicle. Briggs a junior was also a track team member and was on his way home from practice when the accident occurred.
A memorial was created at the crash site, where family and friends placed flowers, and even his football helmet. Please keep the Briggs family in your prayers. Just last year Briggs ended up in the hospital when his house caught fire. The family is definitely going through a lot from losing their house to losing their son.
Menomonee Falls police said they are still investigating what caused the crash but did say speed appears to be a factor.
Paul Mielke, Ph.D., Hamilton School District Superintendent released this statement on the passing of Owen.
“We are deeply saddened by this loss to our school community. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Briggs family during this incredibly difficult time. Hamilton School District Student Services team members are supporting students and staff today and will continue to be available as needed.”
