Jury Finds a Man Guilty of Shooting his Son’s City Rec League Football Coach over Playing Time

You cannot make this up, some times parents get too emotional when watching football. Let’s face it, every parent believes their son is the next Tom Brady, Emmitt Smith, or Howie Long.
Well, one parent in St. Louis was found guilty of assault and armed criminal action. His sentencing is scheduled for March 13.
Daryl B. Clemmons, 45, was found guilty of shooting his son’s football coach.
Clemmons reportedly shot Shaquille Latimore during an argument over the amount of time his son had been getting. Latimore was a volunteer coach for the City Rec Legends Football League.
Court documents indicate that both Clemmons and Latimore were armed during the argument, with Latimore handing his gun to a friend and suggesting they settle their dispute with their fists. However, Clemmons then shot Latimore five times.
Clemmons later surrendered to the police.
The shooting occurred near a practice field in Sherman Park on October 10, 2023, while children were playing nearby.
