It doesn’t matter where you start – a good transfer portal story
The transfer portal has dominated college football discussions for the past several years. There’s a lot of bad with the portal, but there’s also a lot of good, and a recent entry should shine a spotlight on a good story.
Dwight Lewis, who plays just down the road from me at Marian University – an NAIA program in Indianapolis – entered the portal on Wednesday. Since doing so, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound rising senior has picked up five offers from UT-Martin, Youngstown State, Gardner Webb, Western Illinois, McNeese State, Stony Brook, Alcorn State, and UTEP.
Lewis is a great example of a player who didn’t let where he started determine where he’s finishing. He proved his worth at a lower level of the game, got better with college coaching, and is on the road to bigger schools.
