Player Summary:
The collegiate journeyman Logan Diggs will suit up for his third team in four years in 2024, transferring to Ole Miss after having knee surgery this offseason after starting on an LSU offense that produced three first-round draft picks last season. At 215 pounds and just a hair under six foot flat, Diggs is an average-sized power back who averaged 5.5 yards per carry last season before injury. Diggs is a good downhill runner who is patient behind his blockers and doesn’t shy away from contact. He possesses a powerful base with good contact balance and solid straight-line burst. He fights for extra yards with above-average play strength and is a willing blocker downfield, however, stiff hips limit his change of direction and lateral movement ability. Despite this, Diggs has solid acceleration paired with average field vision and awareness. He lacks a top gear to run away from people and isn’t a threat in the passing game, but he has the necessary tools to be a useful bruiser-back given a successful return from injury.
Scheme Fit:
All around power back with added value as a blocker in the return game
Power Statement:
Diggs, a successful power back of average build, needs to show a return to form in 2024 without a decline in movement ability post-surgery in order to rebuild his draft stock.
