Former Albany State running back Treyvon Vallery was shot and killed by his girlfriend
Police said 25-year-old former college football player Treyvon Vallery, was shot and killed by his girlfriend, 25-year-old Nina Shaw.
Dekalb County Police said Treyvon and Nina were arguing at an apartment complex in Dekalb County.
According to police, Nina called her father, 47-year-old Royricas Shaw who began arguing immediately with Treyvon. A police report says Royricas shot at Vallery and missed, and that is when Vallery returned a shot in self defense hitting him in the hip.
Vallery was just trying to defend himself when his girlfriend Nina pulled out a gun and shot her boyfriend killing him.
Police arrested and charged both the father and girlfriend with Murder.
The Vallery family said Treyvon will be laid to rest in his home state of Mississippi. Treyvon was a star running back at Albany State who had a great high school and college career.
