Player Summary:

6th YR SR and 1 yr full-time starter at TE where he aligns at H TE inline and in the slot in the zone blocking scheme of ILST. He transferred from MOWE in 2023. He possesses ordinary height, solid weight and adequate length with a powerful build. He is an ordinary athlete showing solid balance, average COD and explosiveness, adequate acceleration, lateral quickness and agility with below-average play speed. He runs a solid route tree consisting of beneath, whip, out, flat, slant and seam routes showing solid FBI as he reads the coverage and finds the soft spot in the zone. He displays good hands as he shows above-average manual dexterity that enables him to possess a catch radius that enables him to make the catch with his hands away from his body. He displays average contact balance as he breaks tackles from DB with subpar size and explosiveness. He is a quality run blocker. He exhibits solid UOH delivering a well-timed punch to the frame of the EDGE and generates movement at the POA with his good play strength, foot drive and physical toughness against EDGE with adequate size and length. In pass pro, he shows good footwork as he resets his feet and mirrors the moves of EDGE in 2 pt stance with ordinary play speed and uses his above-average play strength to negate the progress of EDGE with subpar size at the LOS. He is average in contested catch situations as he uses his body to shield off DB with below-average ball skills before making the catch. He does a solid job of adjusting his body to passes thrown low. He is good at working his way back to the QB on broken plays. Solid mental toughness allows him to play well in the red zone. He exhibits ordinary hip fluidity as he breaks off his stem. Subpar play speed prevents him from separating in off-man coverage against DB with solid AA. Lack of quality acceleration prevents him from gaining significant YAC consistently.

Scheme Fit:

YTE

Power Statement:

Tough, intelligent player who is reliable in the passing game, excels as a run blocker and is solid in pass pro. Lack of quality play speed and AA limit his ability as a receiver.
