21-year-old former Rutgers football player shot Damon Murray and killed in New Jersey

A former Rutgers football player is dead after he was shot in Hoboken, New Jersey on Sunday.
According to reports, Damon Murray, a former walk-on wide receiver/defensive back at Rutgers University was shot and killed.
The shooting happened near 320 Marshall Drive on the border of Jersey City. Officials say Murray was shot around 11:30 p.m.

Murray was a star at Hoboken High School, who was good enough to briefly play Division 1 football at Rutgers.
Damon Murray was a preferred walk-on player for Rutgers University’s football team in 2020.
His football career was short-lived however, he was only enrolled for the fall 2020 semester. He then returned home to help care for his family.
Murray was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center just after 12 a.m. Monday.
