Player Summary:

Redshirt Senior from Anderson, California. A 3 star recruit who was dominant playing both sides of the ball, he racked up state accolades by recording 50.5 TFL’s and 23.5 SK’s his final two years while also starting at OT for an offense that averaged 200+  rush yds per game. Transferred from WAST to CASC this season for his final year of eligibility. Solid height, weight, with marginal hand size, poor arm length, and effective AA. Good acceleration, solid lateral quickness, with adequate COD, and ordinary flexibility. Solid initial quickness, he is comfortable in 1 and 2 pt stances. Good working to the 2nd level on IZ, he has excellent accuracy when asked to scrape the DL and uses good acceleration to get to the LB. Adequate push at the POA as a playside blocker, he has shown to create push vs smaller edge defenders, but can be penetrated vs DE’s and DT’s with good strength. Adequate hat position when reach blocking, poor arm length makes it difficult for him to maintain correct leverage. Acceptable vision as a pulling blocker, he is good when he can follow another OL and react off his lead block. Adequate when the picture is not clear when pulling on gap scheme plays. Good in pass protection at OG and solid at OT, he has an adequate kickslide with subtle small steps and below-average accuracy in his initial strike often missing outside the DL’s framework. Good vs power rushers, he has an effective anchor, uses good technique to absorb the speed from the DL with good leverage. Above-average keying his matchups body position, very good using a chop technique when the rusher has an extended inside arm, often bringing them to the ground and using their weight against them. He is solid keeping his head on a swivel when at OG, he has very good accuracy when helping one of the OL next to him in pass pro. Poor arm length really impacts him when at OT because he cannot access the chest of most pass rushers, he has marginal hand dexterity and can improve the depth of his pass sets vs speedy EDGE rusher’s.

Scheme Fit:

OG in Zone Run Scheme

Power Statement:

Jarrett Kingston is an above-average athlete on the OL, his arm length is the reason his future is on the interior. He does possess the abilities to be an effective OC if he knows or can learn how to snap. The versatility he has had by playing 4 of the 5 OL position’s in college should intrigue some decision makers as a depth piece.
