15-year-old Alabama high school football player killed in a car accident

According to reports, Brayden Ray a 15-year-old, was killed around 12:30 a.m. when his car left the road and hit some trees along Highway 70 near the Waterford subdivision. Ray was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ray was No. 29 on the football team and was a sophomore wide receiver, according to the school’s football roster.
I am not sure if reports have the age correct, because the minimum driving age in Alabama is 16. However, there are certain exceptions and restrictions: Learner’s License – Fifteen year olds may obtain a restricted Learner’s License for the purpose of learning to safely and effectively operate a motor vehicle.
Police are saying Ray was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Please keep the Ray family in your prayers during this tough time.
