Player Summary:
Shows very good ability to leverage interior gaps vs Zone & Gap. Good ability to leverage perimeter runs Vs both Zone & Gap as well. Displays very good instincts/IQ in run support, diagnoses play & gets downhill quick. Overall good block shed ability to get off/around blocks. Very good tackling ability between gaps, stats square and wraps up well. Overall good click-close speed & COD ability, able to stick foot in ground and close on play well. Also shows good pursuit ability to angle as well as good tackling ability in space. Very good awareness on misdirection plays, does a good job keeping backside discipline. Possesses very good match/mirror ability and overall good Route Rec in Zone. Beasley doesn’t possess the prototypical size of a Mike, and will likely fit best as a Sam or Will at the next level. Possesses overall average sideline to sideline speed, has trouble chasing down faster skill players. Displays adequate match/mirror ability in Man, struggles stacking with faster backs out of backfield. Adequate ball skills in coverage as well, doesn’t have great feel for finding the ball and creating turnovers.
Scheme Fit:
4-3 Will or Sam LB.
Power Statement:
Aaron Beasley doesn’t possess plus size or speed but he’s got a nose for the ball in run support with great instincts & awareness & shows very good match/mirror ability in Zone to provide value vs pass. Beasley has the ability to make a roster right away on special teams at the very least, and in the right system he can develop into a quality starter for a defense.
