What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft?

What makes me a top prospect at my position would have to be my Football IQ, my versatility being able to play corner, nickel, and safety at a high level, as well as my Instinct’s ,my ability to be a ball hawk, my range, Consistency, technique, Work Ethic, Leadership, and Will to Win.

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

According to my parents “ball” was my first word so I’ve always been around it and intrigued… I began playing football when I was five years old. My dad and older cousins played so it was almost inevitable for me to love it.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

The one thing that NFL teams should know about me is I live for the moment. I’m the first one in the building and last one to leave, I bring out the best in my teammates consistently, and there isn’t a better overall DB in this draft class.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

The cause I’m most excited to Donate to is ‘The National Autistic Society’ as well as ‘Autism Speaks’. My baby brother was diagnosed with Autism when he was three years old and I want to do whatever I can to bring attention and more love to the autistic community!

What is the best advice you have ever received?

The best advice I’ve ever received would have to be “Those destined for greatness, often feel alone”, along with “better today than yesterday, better tomorrow than today”. The reason this advice was major for me was because I had to understand greatness isn’t common so if you want to be common and like everyone else you can forget about being great, you have to separate yourself and be different! You also have to avoid complacency each day strive to be a better you and accomplish being the best version of yourself consistently.

Who was your childhood hero?

My childhood hero was both of my parents, I always viewed my dad as unstoppable. He instilled the work ethic and blue collar mentality in me by continuously overcoming anything that ever stepped foot in his way. My mother was also my hero, she is the definition of resilient. There is nothing that could break my mother’s spirit or drive, best believe if she wants something she is going to get it!

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

The most underrated player in my locker room has to be Edwin Dearman. Ed is a workhorse as well with a blue collar work ethic. He’s instinctive and super explosive, in my eyes he has the same traits as some of the best safeties in the game! He will definitely put the world on notice this year.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Personally, my biggest pet peeve has to be when it’s always someone else’s fault. From my perspective, things are going to happen it’s life… there has never been a perfect game played so there will be mishaps on and off the field. Just own it and grow from it don’t let it happen again!

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

My life has been an uphill battle with adversity to the point to where I expect it regularly now because of how I’m programmed at this point. There have been quite a few tough obstacles/events to work through but I would have to say the hardest thing to overcome boils down to two moments… 1.) Losing one of my best friends to gun violence my junior year of high school. 2.) Believing in my self enough to hit the transfer portal when it was evident no one around me believed in me at the time.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

The University of Northern Iowa is such a special place because of the people and the opportunity here. Everyone whose apart of the university whether it be students or faculty, have your best intentions at heart. Cedar falls isn’t like a Miami or Atlanta where it’s action packed and full of fast living. It’s actually the polar opposite but the corn fields and quietness of the city gives you the opportunity to be still, grow, reflect, and become one with yourself. Everyone who becomes successful at UNI learned the art of consistency.

What is your favorite snack food?

My favorite snack has to be chips, I’m a big chip guy.

What is the best part of football?

The best part of football to me is training with my brothers putting the time in when no one is watching, then translating that to the battlefield. It’s the whole dynamic of the game… I’m obsessed with it! Also football is one of the only things in the world that informs you of everything that could happen good bad or indifferent. Before you play the game you know potentially a hit could be fatal or lead to injury, you’re also aware that the work you’ve put in will show up and you can make a living from the game. The ultimate game of life!

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

I pride myself on discipline and Humility, there isn’t a soul who wants it more than me or is willing to outwork me. I make my teammates around me better,  there isn’t a moment too big, I’m a film junkie, and the best defensive back in the draft!

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

I would compare my game to Tyrann Mathieu’s, he is versatile, very cerebral and aware of what’s going on, he’s willing to leave it all on the line, and he’s an instinctive playmaker. DAWG!

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with three people the list would consist of : Jay – Z, Nipsey, and Charles Woodson. I say Jay-Z because he made himself into a billionaire so I would love just to listen to him drop knowledge. Next, I say Nipsey because he’s an individual who was able to be himself and take care of his whole community. Lastly, I say Charles Woodson because in my eyes he’s the GOAT overall DB from corner to safety.
