Georgia Bulldogs newest transfer arrested on felony drug charges

Ja’Marley Riddle has reportedly become the latest University of Georgia football player to face legal trouble during the tenure of head coach Kirby Smart.
According to a police report obtained by WGIG 98.7 FM, the 19-year-old cornerback was arrested on May 8 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, along with a misdemeanor speeding violation.
Authorities say the incident began when an undercover officer with the Glynn County Police Department observed Riddle allegedly driving close to 100 miles per hour while weaving through traffic. The officer reportedly radioed for a marked patrol unit to conduct a traffic stop.
Following the stop, Riddle was charged with felony counts related to the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, as well as the sale of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.
The arrest adds to a growing list of off-field incidents involving Georgia football players in recent years, an issue that has continued to draw scrutiny around one of college football’s premier programs.
