What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft

Something that makes me a top prospect at my position in this years upcoming draft is my ability to play both spots at safety being the field and boundary coming up in run support while also playing in the field covering space and being able to play side line to side line. I run the alley well and enjoy contact. I lead not only on the field but off and my character and how I represent myself is something I take very seriously.

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

I was around 6 or 7 and seeing my older brothers play and then always being better than me made me want to get better and also made me fall in love with football and all that came with it like lessons and friendships.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

The NFL should know that every time I step on the field I am one of the smartest players. I can get people lined up. I will do my job and won’t be out worked. I strive to be a player coach and bring up the guys around me while also having the mentality that I am the best player every time I step on the field.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

Definitely a cause for underprivileged youth. Something I wanna do if afforded the opportunity is let kids who don’t have all the resources I had or that other people have let them know there is a way to succeed in life and set achievable goals. Growing up and seeing so many people who were much more talented than me not make it because they didn’t have the same structure and support I had is something I always think about and I wish they got a shot as I did.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

I’ve gotten a lot of great advice and some I try to preach myself. One being facts over feelings. That’s something I try to remind myself of a lot because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how I feel or what someone feels. A fact is a fact. And also no one cares how you’re feeling. That’s kind of how I approach my days when I don’t feel at my best or I’m tired. No one cares. And I think carrying that mindset has helped me try to outdo everyone and show them that I understand that and live by it.

Who was your childhood hero?

I don’t know if I had a hero. But I’d say both my parents. They have sacrifices so much for me and my siblings, with some of the sacrifices I realize as I get older. So just understanding all they have put on the line for me my siblings and family makes me want to give it back.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

Most underrated. I’d say at UNC he’s not underrated in terms of his status within our program because everyone knows what he brings and what he’s about. But for sure I’d say Power Echols nationally. I don’t feel he gets the National credit he deserves but he is one of the hardest working and loves football more than anyone I know. He comes to work everyday and his passion and his drive is something that will scare someone away if they don’t really love the game.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is probably a bad driver when I’m in a rush haha.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

The hardest thing I’ve had to overcome is leaving all my friends and family to go live with my dad and starting new basically in 9th grade moving to Maryland. Back then I hated it and was honestly miserable because my mindset and thoughts about it were so far from what they needed to be. But leaving all I knew and not getting my way was honestly the best thing I had to go through because it 100% had molded me into who I am today so it really was a blessing in disguise and I thank my parents for making me go through it.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

I truly believe UNC is special because the people within it. I committed to Larry Fedora and before I got there he was fired and before my official visit I didn’t know if I would stay committed just because I had no clue who Mack Brown was and it was just a lot of unknown. I initially committed because it just felt right. The people, the community, it was just something in the air. And when I took my OV with coach Brown and his staff I was even more blown away and knew no matter coach or player I’d be happy there just because the school is special in its self.

What is your favorite snack food?

Favorite snack food is gushers or Oreos I can eat them all day.

What is the best part of football?

The best part about football is being able to literally forget about everything that is going on in your life and having fun and playing with guys you love. I enjoy knowing that my family can come to games come together and watch me and I take a lot of pride in that and then just being able to reach a common goal with a team starting from scratch is a great feeling.

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

I’m Gio Biggers and you’re getting one of the smartest, purpose driven and physical players that you can get.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

I’d say William Moore his ability to play within the box but also cover when needed and just the swag he played with.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Lebron James. My favorite sports player ever. And other than that I really don’t have anyone. Not a big fan type of person but I’m telling you I go hard for Lebron like that’s my guy!
