Player Summary:
Jason Taylor II makes his mark as Oklahoma State’s big play specialist at the free safety position. Average height and weight, but great range due to his long arms. Taylor has good instincts on where the play is going and does well to keep himself in position to make a play. His long speed is average and he struggles with lateral change of direction, however his recognition allows him to make a quick break on the receiver or jump the route to make a play. Average twitch, but high level competitor. He is very involved in run defense and is dependable enough as the last line of defense. Very willing to tackle, but has inconsistent form when doing so. Good ball awareness to play the ball in the air or get a hand in front of the receiver if necessary. Solid in both man and zone coverage and always looks to force a turnover in whatever way possible.
Scheme Fit:
FS in any 2 high dominant defense or 4-2-5 scheme
Power Statement:
Jason Taylor is a bonafide playmaker who makes up for in great length and instincts what he lacks in raw athleticism.
