Bethany College football players threaten to quit after their coach is fired
What is going on at Bethany College?
Today, there was an announcement that Bethany is looking for a new head coach. Well this video was released from Keaten Stockham and it sounds like there is a lot more happening behind the scenes.
Bethany Football coach Curran White’s tenure at the school was short-lived.
White, was fired this morning from his job as head football coach just 11 days before the Swedes’ Sept. 12 season opener at Saint Mary. He was beginning his second season.
Now the players are speaking out and they are pissed their head coach was fired. They have demands, they do not want a new head coach. They want the head coach that battled with them through the entire pandemic.
It has gotten so bad now that players are hanging up their cleats and are willing to walk away from the game.
Bethany College is expected to hire Tyrone Carter for the rest of the 2020 season. Carter previously served as offensive line coach at Bethany from 2017-2018.
The team does not seem to happy about that, so this will be interesting to see how it plays out. It sounds like the team does not want to play for anyone but the new coaching staff.
