Eric Decker will have surgery; Sammy Watkins will not
The New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills have two of their best wide outs injured and they were both placed on the injured reserve.
The Bills received good news, while the Jets didn’t. After visiting Dr. Robert Anderson, Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins does not need a second foot surgery and can work and rehab with a potential return this season in mind.
The Bills placed Watkins on injured reserve last month. If he can heal and get up to speed, he could be activated in December.
Decker on the other hand will miss the entire season and will undergo surgery. Decker has been out with a partially torn rotator cuff suffered in late September.
Decker has had at least 74 catches in each of the last four seasons, and his loss is a significant one for a struggling Jets team that sits at 1-4.
