Raiders have applied for the trademark Las Vegas Raiders
Darren Heitner of Forbes.com reports that the team filed applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark the name “Las Vegas Raiders” on August 20.
This does not mean that the Raiders will in fact be heading to Vegas, but it shows there is real interest. For example, the San Diego Chargers applied for the mark “LA Chargers,” but have yet to leave San Diego.
