Steelers former DB’s house was busted with tons of drugs and weapons
Sunday Night the Pittsburgh Police department struck gold in a former Steelers defensive backs home. A Pittsburgh residence owned by Mississippi State assistant coach Deshea Townsend, a former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback, was the site of a massive drug bust in which police arrested two men Sunday night. Townsend was not arrested and there’s no indication he was involved.
Police arrested Price Montgomery and James Perrin, and the DEA recovered 75,000 stamped bags of heroin, according to CBSPittsburgh. The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reported that a Mississippi State spokesperson confirmed Townsend’s ownership of the home, but said Townsend rents it to tenants. It is not yet clear if Montgomery and Perrin are Townsend’s renters.
Police also reportedly recovered 16 firearms, more than $100,000 in cash and jewelry, two luxury vehicles, Cuban cigars and a live chicken. Townsend had a 13-year NFL career as a cornerback, 12 of them with the Steelers, before playing his final season with the Indianapolis Colts in 2010. The former Alabama star coaches cornerbacks at Mississippi State.
