Deron Furr is an athletic freak of nature.  The former quarterback turned linebacker has everything you want in a player.  He has heart, he has power and he has quickness.  Last week at the Medal of Honor All-Star game in South Carolina the former HBCU standout won the defensive player of the game award.  Furr turned tons of scouts heads during the week and has really stood out. Expect Furr to be in a uniform next season.  The kid is a very special talent, this is a must watch film: Senior HIGHLIGHT 

How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?

I had offers from the entire SEC, ACC, Big 10, Conference USA and etc.

Where did you choose and why?

I chose Auburn at the time I played Quarterback and wanted to remain a QB.

Have any scouts met with you, and if so what are they saying?

Yes, they all are saying I need to run a fast 40.

At your position, what separates you from the others?

I feel that I’m more athletic than your typical LB because I’m able to play multiple positions.

Tell us what you look for when breaking down film?

I look for tendencies

Who was the toughest player you have ever faced?

It’s a toss up but Bilal Powell from Louisville was a tough one.

If you could compare your play to one person in the NFL who would it be?

Patrick Willis

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Learning to accept change.. and by praying more and letting God handle situations.

What system fits your style of play the best?

It doesn’t matter to me football is football

What is your biggest strength?

Speed

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

Never give up until the last second is gone and I wont let you down

My Father

Who was your favorite player in the NFL and why?

Michael Vick because he was unstoppable

What was the most tragic event that ever happened in your life and how did you overcome it?

When my grandmother passed. I prayed a lot and talked to her.

If you were to have dinner with three people dead or alive who would it be?

My Grandmother Martin Luther King Jr, and President Obama

With your first paycheck what would you buy?

Nothing I would invest…
