Billy Turner is one of the most athletic offensive lineman in the country. Billy has great genes as well, both his brother and father have had successful years in the NFL.

How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?

I had about 12 teams recruiting me

Where did you choose and why?

North Dakota State University felt like home and I loved the coaching staff. They taught their players saw a lot of potential in the team down the road.

What are your goals for your Senior year?

My goals were to become a better more polished football player. My team goals were to win another conference championship unbeaten and go through the playoffs and win another championship.

Have any scouts met with you, and if so what are they saying?

Yes, they love my athleticism and my physicality.

At your position, what separates you from the others?

My athleticism and the mean streak i play with.

Tell us what you look for when breaking down film?

I watch the tendencies in the Defense as far as safety rotation and linebacker alignment. I then use those to try and discover keys that the defensive line uses. I will also look at how each D linemen plays the position, Do they use their hands well?, Are they quick?, slow? powerful? and so on

Who was the toughest player you have ever faced?

Tyler Starr from South Dakota

If you could compare your play to one person in the NFL who would it be?

Joe Thomas or Lane Johnson both are athletic freaks for their size

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Athletically, just getting noticed at an FCS school we get over looked a lot of the time and people think that the competition level is very poor. Also moving away from home and not being around my family. I  overcame it by surrounding my self with good guys on my team that I now consider my family.

What system fits your style of play the best?

I feel that I have good feet so any team that throws the ball I feel I could strive in but I also love to run block and to dig guys out.

What is your biggest strength?

My athleticism

What is your biggest weakness?

Coming from an FCS school

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I would be the hardest working guy on the team on and off the field, I would never lie to you and I will always play through the whistle.

Growing up, who was your role model?

My Father

Who was your favorite team and player in the NFL and why?

I grew up a Vikings fan and a Cris Carter and Randy Moss fan.

What was the most tragic event that ever happened in your life and how did you overcome it?

The passing of my grandmother, she helped raise me and I was with her all the time so when she passed it was a very difficult time. I overcame it by praying.

If you were to have dinner with three people dead or alive who would it be?

My great grandparents to see where my family came from and learn more about the roots of my family.

With your first paycheck what would you buy?

Nothing, straight to the bank!!!
