Browns release QB Caleb Hanie one week after signing him

The Cleveland Browns released the quarterback one week after signing him, and just a couple days after he came sort of close to starting against New England.  I was hoping he would start so the Browns fans could sew his name on the back of that jersey with all the names.  Well, I’m sorry Caleb that didn’t happen.

To replace Hanie, the Browns signed running Edwin Baker off the Houston Texans’ practice squad.

Baker’s signing likely means the concussion that sent Willis McGahee to the bench in the fourth quarter of the loss to New England will keep McGahee out against the Bears.
