Two Standout High School Football Players Arrested in Murder of a Georgia Man
Tragedy has struck the Carrollton, Georgia community after two local high school football players were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 46-year-old Tyrone Boykin on Friday.
Boykin, a well-known and beloved member of the community, was shot and killed near his home on Magnolia Street, according to Carrollton police. The incident has left residents in shock and mourning the loss of a man described as generous, dependable, and deeply rooted in the neighborhood.
Authorities have arrested 18-year-old Kimauri Farmer, a standout football player for Carrollton High School, and 17-year-old Joshawia Davis, who played for Bowdon High School. Both are being held on a single count of murder. A third suspect, a 15-year-old whose name has not been released due to age, is also in custody.
According to recruiting site 247Sports, Farmer had committed to play college football at Liberty University.
The arrests have sent shockwaves through the local school system, with student-athletes, educators, and families reeling from the loss of a community member and the serious allegations facing the young men.
