Tennessee Tech football player hosted event to raise money for cancer research

Jameson Wharton a standout football player at Tennessee Tech held a community event on Sunday to raise money for cancer research through his non-profit organization Football for the Cure.
Wharton hosted his 11th Annual Football for the Cure flag football event yesterday. It cost 5 dollars for each kid to participate, with all proceeds going to American Cancer Society.
We talk about so much negative things on the internet, it was great to see a football player doing something amazing for the community.
As someone who was diagnosed with cancer recently, and currently in remission! I was fired up to see a young football player doing something to give back to the youth.
Wharton started this event 10 years ago when he was in Woodstock, Georgia.
The Tennessee Tech defensive back said the annual event raised $50,000 last year for cancer research. This year, they’re supporting two kids in the community, Liam and Jason, who are battling cancer.
