What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2027 NFL Draft?
I bring reliability, intelligence, and physicality to the field. I have a great understanding of both offensive and defensive schemes which allow me to play confidently and fast. I have elite strength which helps me dominate blocks in the trenches and in space. I also play with a huge chip on my shoulder. Coming out of high school, I had 0 division 1 offers. During my senior year, there wasn’t a single division 1 coach in the country who would answer my DMs. I carry that with me every day.
Tell me about a time you faced adversity and how you responded?
My college career didn’t start the way I wanted it to. I didn’t see the field as a freshman and was injured my sophomore year. I was beaten out for a starting spot during my junior season. While I earned some playing time as a rotator, I was benched during our 5th game of the season, and my reps were cut in the subsequent games. After the season was over, I had to take a hard look in the mirror. I decided to change my entire approach to the game. From diet, sleep, lifestyle, lifts, and field work I was able to transform myself from a bench player to someone who the coaches couldn’t take off the field.
What are your hobbies outside of football?
Playing Xbox with my friends
What role do you see yourself playing at the next level?
I see myself as someone who can be a reliable contributor at any of the 3 interior positions while bringing toughness, leadership, and professionalism to the room.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
I would donate to the Trenton Stewart Foundation. Trenton was a high school teammate of mine who went on to play at Stetson University. He was tragically killed by a drunk driver after his freshman year. His parents started a foundation in his name to provide free football camps and college scholarships to athletes in the Jacksonville area. I think about Trenton all the time and his parents cause means a lot to me.
How do you handle coaching, especially criticism or being corrected repeatedly?
I welcome criticism. No one is perfect, so I take it as an opportunity to improve and learn. I am always looking for ways to improve my game.
Who is the most underrated teammate at your school?
The most underrated teammate at my school is our center, Brandon Furey. He’s one of the smartest players I have ever been around.
If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would it be and why did you choose them?
First, I would choose Kobe Bryant. I’ve always been drawn to the “Mamba Mentality” and i feel like I could learn a lot from him about his attention to detail and relentless work ethic. Next, I would choose David Goggins. His mindset and approach to discipline, accountability, and pushing past perceived limits is something I really respect and would love to learn more about. Last, I would choose Larry David to provide us with some comedy.
If you were benched tomorrow, what would be the most likely reason?
It would be because I defended my quarterback after a late hit.
Walk me through your typical pre-game routine?
I like to go out to the field early and do some light stretching and foam rolling. After that I’ll meditate in the endzone.
What is your favorite snack food?
Dried Fruit
What scheme do you feel you fit the best in?
I feel like I am a versatile player who fits well in both zone and gap schemes. With that said, I love pulling on gap schemes. There’s no better feeling than dominating a block on a pull and it generating an explosive play or touchdown.
What is your degree in?
Master of Business Administration
What would be the first thing you buy with your first NFL check?
I would like to save up to buy my parents a house.
Describe a time in a game where you feel you made a mistake, and explain how you bounced back?
During my career at my previous school, Wesleyan University, we played Williams College and I let up a pressure due to a missed assignment. After the drive, I was able to collect myself and correct it with my teammates. Later on in the game we saw the same blitz and I correctly picked it up allowing for our QB to throw a game winning TD.
Name three songs, we can expect on your playlist?
Simple Man by Lynrd Skynyrd, Let it all work out by Lil Wayne, and Weston Road Flows by Drake
