Pittman’s Pocket: Tampa Middleton Tigers: Coach Courtney’s HBCU Pipeline Continues with Major Signings

Tampa Middleton’s Coach Courtney is making a huge impact on the recruiting scene, particularly with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This year alone, the Tigers have seen three athletes ink their names on the dotted line, a testament to the hard work and dedication of Coach Courtney and the entire athletic staff.
Kazzie Brantley, a 6’2″, 190-pound outside linebacker with a 4.6 40-yard dash, is heading to the Lane Dragons. Brantley will primarily focus on pass rushing but will also have the versatility to drop back into coverage—showcasing his all-around skill set.
Also signing is former district champion quarterback Aljavonnie Damon. The 6’1″, 190-pound dual-threat QB possesses impressive footwork and resilience. Although Damon made a name for himself under center, his skills as a safety could earn him a chance to continue his career at the next level.
With these signings, Coach Courtney continues to build next-level relationships, enhancing the Middleton program’s reputation as a powerhouse of talent. Congratulations to Coach Courtney and the Middleton Tigers for another successful year!
