Player Summary:

5th YR SR and 1 yr full-time starter at RB in the gap and zone blocking scheme of CADA. He also lines up at QB in the wildcat formation. He possesses above-average height, marginal weight and ordinary speed with a muscular build. He is a sufficient athlete showing a combination of good COD, average acceleration, explosiveness, lateral quickness and agility with sufficient top end play speed. He shows solid vision on zone runs (OZ and IZ) as he finds the open hole or cutback lane as well as sufficient patience as he waits for his block to be set up on power runs. He displays average burst through the hole with good SAQ which prevents LB with subpar COD to miss tackles. He does a great job of finishing the run by falling forward for extra yardage. He is solid in the passing game. He runs a good route tree consisting of flat, angle, swing and wheel routes coming out of the backfield and out routes when lined up in the slot. He displays sufficient hands as he possesses the manual dexterity needed to make the catch with his hands close to his body. In rare instances where he is asked to assist in pass pro, he shows the willingness to assist and shows solid UOH in his punch, placement and timing as he assists the OL with their assignment. He exhibits very good mental toughness as he came back from a knee injury later in the ‘23 season, he doesn’t shy away from contact and he elevates his play in the redzone. He does an adequate job of running behind his pads. Lack of quality AA prevents him from beating LB/DB with good play speed to the edge and turn the corner as well as gain significant YAC consistently after he makes the catch. Ordinary contact balance allows DB/LB with good explosiveness to make the tackle.

Scheme Fit:

RB in both gap and zone schemes.

Power Statement:

Tough, reliable player who contributes well as a runner and in the passing game as a receiver. Lack of quality AA prevents him from consistently outrunning DB/LB with good play speed.
