UFL Attendance: 27K Attend The Coronation of a Dynasty

Father’s Day 2024 is when the UFL crowns a champion between the merged leagues. The XFL champion Brahmas returns to St. Louis after beating the Battlehawks in last week’s XFL conference championship. Birmingham is the reigning USFL champion. These two teams have met previously this season, with the Brahmas defeating the Stallions at home, 18-9. The ratings will be interesting to watch as the game will go up against the U.S. Open and run up against the NHL’s Stanley Cup tonight.

Per Mike Mitchell of Sports Illustrated, over 27,000 fans attended the title matchup between the Stallions and Brahmas.

The GOAT is in the building!

News broke earlier on Sunday and last week that a GOAT would be in attendance and begin his broadcast duties for FOX. According to James Larsen of Pro Football Network, Tom Brady will be on the telecast during the second quarter. It can only help the UFL even more to have such star power backing their efforts.

Former Brahmas kicker and YouTube sensation Deestroying made it to the game.

UFL Sportsman of the Year and Memphis Showboats RB Darius Victor made the trip, too!

San Antonio fans were in full throat before kickoff, serenading the Stallions players with funny chants as they got off the team bus.

What happened during the game?

The first quarter saw very little action as both teams lived up to their defensive high marks. Birmingham had the number one rushing defense, while the Brahmas had the top overall defense. Both teams traded punts and a few first downs, with the most notable action being San Antonio defensive back Teez Tabor being forced to the sidelines to change his socks, which were the wrong color.

The second quarter was largely the same but with more splash plays for each side like San Antonio recovering the ball after a standout play by Darius Phillips.

Birmingham countered that with an impressive 44-yard run by Ricky Person, which led to an eventual touchdown pass by league MVP Adrian Martinez to Gary Jennings with little time left in the first half.

Birmingham opened the third quarter with a commanding drive and took a 16-0 lead on this nifty touchdown scramble by Martinez. San Antonio promptly responded with a turnover, which led to another Martinez touchdown on a quarterback sneak, giving Birmingham a commanding 22-0 lead.

The fourth quarter was another dominant showing by the newly elected champions of the UFL. San Antonio finally pulled the plug on an ineffective Chase Garbers in favor of backup Quinten Dormady, who led them down the field but failed to score. Birmingham largely bled the clock out en route to their third consecutive spring league championship. After this debilitating effort in the game, the only fight left in the Brahmas was this one below, in which both parties were ejected.

What’s Next?

Congratulations to the UFL champion Birmingham Stallions on a great 2024 season! We at NFL Draft Diamonds look forward to seeing you next year for an even better 2025! As seen below, DC Defenders head coach Reggie Barlow also made an interesting statistical note. The Battlehawks dominated in total attendance, but overall, attendance was healthy for most of the league.

Daryl Johnston had a fascinating interview about the future of the premier spring league on local radio this morning.

The burgeoning spring league leaves the 2024 season in a very good place and will look to continue the momentum for the 2025 season. We at NFL Draft Diamonds will continue to provide insightful and meaningful coverage of the UFL going forward and look to welcome anyone and everyone involved in the UFL sphere and beyond to our wonderful site.
