Steelers are expected to meet with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson

There did not appear to be any suitors for veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, but it seems like at least one team is going to do their homework.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are planning to meet with Wilson before free agency gets underway next week. Wilson will be released when the new league year opens on March 13.
Kenny Pickett remains on the roster in Pittsburgh, and the team did say they had interest in trying to re-sign Mason Rudolph.
The Broncos allowed the veteran Wilson to speak with teams before getting released, and it sounds like the Steelers and Mike Tomlin will at least kick the tires to see what Danger-Russ is looking for.
Wilson spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seahawks, during which he was selected to nine Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl.
A third-round pick of Seattle in 2012, Wilson has thrown for 43,653 yards with 334 touchdowns and 106 interceptions in his career.
The Broncos went all-in to acquire Wilson from the Seahawks, sending five draft picks, including two first-round and two second-round selections, as well as three players. I am not expecting the Steelers to be willing to pay much for Russ’ services. He maybe forced to sign an incentive laden contract, if he wants a chance to start in the NFL this year.
This would be an interesting signing if he did in fact sign with the Steelers. I mean it would give the Steelers some competition.
