Texas teen football player killed heading to the first day of school riding his bike

Landon Bourque a sophomore football player at Heritage High School in Texas was riding his bicycle to his first day of school when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. Bourque was just 15 years old.
Bourque was attempting to cross Independence Parkway at George Washington Drive, near Roach Middle School, at about 5:30 a.m. when he was hit by a truck. Police said the driver stopped and tried to help the injured teen but that he did not survive the crash.
Bourque was a football player for the Heritage Coyotes football team.
