Game 1 versus Cal Poly on ESPN. I fumbled before the half during a 2 minute drill. Knowing the importance of this game for my team and myself I was sick to my stomach that I had did something this bad, especially in a situation we always practice. With the help of my teammates and coaches I found a way to get over it and make the second half better than the first half. I made some big time blocks and catches one that I thought should have tied us the game but the refs called out of bounds. The weeks following this game I have been working on my ball security. Anytime we are in a special teams period that I’m not on, I go to the side of the field and do drills that the running backs do which has helped me run the ball better. I have broken more tackles this season, than I have in my whole career and I believe that fumble had a big impact.
