Player Summary:
2nd year starter from Woodbridge, VA. Primarily plays boundary safety for UNC but rotates to play MOF free safety as needed. Below-average HT/WT for his position but has a plus wingspan. Dense build, wide upper half, and knobby calves. Smooth, fluid athlete. No verified speed times but does not showcase high-level straight-line speed, average at best. Above-average acceleration. High football IQ, processes quickly and sees what offenses are trying to accomplish. Patient in pass pro, almost to a fault. Allows receivers to eat up space quickly so he can play more physically with them, but that could be an issue with bigger/faster players at the next level. Smooth in backpedal, fluid hips. Takes good angles in run support. Navigates traffic well in pursuit. Struggles to get off blocks once engaged but does a good job of evading blocks prior to being locked up. Consistently wraps up ball carriers in the open field, rarely allows extra yardage. Not afraid of contact, cleans up gang tackles well. Not a thumper, but a consistent tackler. Gives good effort, does not give up on plays and blocks for teammates on fast-break turnovers. Played a higher percentage of snaps at the beginning of the season than he did at the end, requiring more research on why. Well-rounded player with tools to play in the NFL.
Scheme Fit:
Projects as a middle of the field safety as a professional but showcases traits that could translate well to play some nickel as well.
Power Statement:
Biggers is a smart, physical player with a level of positional versatility. While he doesn’t have any truly elite traits, Biggers projects to be an instant two-deep player and consistent contributor on special teams with the ability to become a low-end starter at the NFL level by the end of his rookie contract.
